Though it may not be the first thing to come to mine when talking about science and medicine, the Dance Science Concentration combines dance training with biology, psychology, and anatomy. Many dancers seeking a well-rounded education will pursue both performance and dance science concentrations, often leading to careers in dance medicine, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
The theater arts program at Muhlenberg College is very good. The BA program requires no audition and provides a full scope of entertainment majors. Intense interaction of faculty and students as artists provide a collaborative atmosphere and theater students have extensive opportunities in musical theater and dance. Theater majors select from one of five concentrations that include Acting, Directing, Performance Studies, Design & Technical Theater and Stage Management. The department is known for their advanced acting courses in Stage Combat, On-Camera Acting, Acting the Song and Clowning.
The strong science and theater programs are joined by a top 20 accounting program. Accounting majors are provided with a unique opportunity to benefit from a strong liberal arts education while obtaining knowledge and skills in accounting, finance, economics, and business. By proper selection of accounting major and elective courses, students will be prepared to continue on with graduate study or to pursue a variety of careers in public accounting, law, the corporate world, or not-for-profit organizations.
