Dr. Jerry Daniels
Dr. Jerry Daniels is a premier independent college advisor, dedicated educator,
and academic consultant with over 20 years of experience helping students unlock their full
potential and secure their academic futures. Based in Houston, Texas, Dr. Daniels offers
families a rare and invaluable perspective on the college admissions landscape — having
excelled as a high school teacher, a university lecturer, and an academic advisor at a major
tier-one institution.
Dr. Daniels' passion for student success is backed by elite academic credentials. He earned both
his Bachelor of Science (1983) and Master of Science (1984) degrees from East Texas State
University (now East Texas A&M) before completing his PhD at Texas A&M University in 1994.
With over a decade of classroom experience, Dr. Daniels spent ten years teaching agricultural
science in Fort Bend ISD, where his dedication to student growth earned him the prestigious
Fort Bend ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year award in 1996. He also expanded his
instructional reach by teaching at Houston Community College's Northwest campus and serving as
the Director of Technology for Buffalo ISD.
A pivotal chapter in his career came when he returned to Texas A&M University as a
Student Advisor and Lecturer. In this role, Dr. Daniels worked directly with the
university's incoming students, gaining a first-hand understanding of exactly what competitive
institutions of higher learning expect from high school graduates. He saw firsthand the academic
and transitional gaps that often trip up even the brightest freshmen.
Recognizing that high school counselors are often stretched thin, frequently managing hundreds
of students at a time, Dr. Daniels founded his independent advising practice in 2006. He realized
that to truly succeed, families need a dedicated ally who can offer intensive, one-on-one strategy.
Today, Dr. Daniels bridges the gap between high school preparation and university expectations.
By working individually with teens and their families, he demystifies the admissions process,
provides targeted academic guidance, and helps students transition seamlessly into higher
education to get the absolute most out of their college experience.
